Product Summary of 3 & 4 Layer Foils

These are high purity foils consist of 3 or 4 separate, distinct layers composed of single element films and in some cases, alloy films. Such foils can be placed over any blank substrate for XRF calibration or 3 or 4 layer thickness and composition measurement. Due to their inherently fragile nature, all foils with metal films totaling 1 micron or less in thickness are applied to a 3.6 micron Mylar foil for support and enhanced durability. Exceptions may be noted for specific element foils. Thicker foil combinations may also be supported with thin organic (X-ray transparent) films for added support and durability. These foils are adhered to a stainless steel metal frame to facilitate handling and labelling, exposing a limited area of the foil for measurement.
